How to prepare for the Disco Numbers game (2026)
Disco Numbers is a two-part challenge: remember the order of discs that light up, then add up their values — all while distractors move around.
Practise Disco Numbers free →What it measures
Working memory, attention and mental arithmetic at the same time — plus the ability to keep focus while the screen is busy.
How it works
Several numbered discs light up one by one in a sequence. You must (1) reproduce that order by tapping the discs, then (2) enter or pick the sum of the values that lit up. From higher levels, the discs move around as distractors, and negative numbers can appear to make the sum harder.
Strategies that work
- Lock onto the order first — say the positions to yourself as they light.
- Keep a running total in your head while you watch, so the sum is half-done already.
- Ignore the moving distractors; track only the discs that lit.
- With negatives, watch the signs carefully — they're designed to trip you up.
💡 On Prepwise, Disco Numbers replicates both steps (order + sum), moving distractors from higher levels, negative values, and a focus drill if your weak spot is the order or the arithmetic.
Common mistakes
- Nailing the sum but forgetting the order (or vice versa).
- Getting distracted by the moving discs.
- Sign errors with negative numbers.
FAQ
Do I need both the order and the sum right?
Yes — both parts count. Practise them together.
Why do the discs move?
To test attention under load. Keep tracking only the ones that lit.
